
Ann Marie Hourigan
Ann Marie Hourigan is Executive Leader of the Quality Standards Team at Whole Foods Market. There, Ann Marie drives the work on the company’s Quality Standards - leading the team that develops and maintains Whole Foods Market’s Standards for Seafood Sustainability, Animal Welfare, Food Ingredients, Body Care, Social Responsibility, and more. Ann Marie also advises on agricultural programs and policies. During her time at Whole Foods Market, Ann Marie led the development of the company’s policies on Regenerative Agriculture, Pollinator Health, and Climate-Smart Agriculture. She also advises on policies related to organic and non-GMO claims. For the past 20 years, Ann Marie has worked in the organic and natural foods industry in a variety of roles. Prior to working at Whole Foods Market, Ann Marie was the Director of Organic Integrity and Compliance Programs at Earthbound Farm, an organic produce grower and shipper. In previous roles, Ann Marie has been an organic inspector and technical reviewer for Quality Assurance International (QAI). Ann Marie has also served as member of the California Organic Products Advisory Committee (COPAC), and California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) chapter leader. She currently sits on the Organic Trade Association’s Board of Directors. Ann Marie holds a bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University. When she’s not working toward a better agricultural system, Ann Marie enjoys Pilates, the outdoors, and spending time with her family. As a mother of two small children, she is dedicated more than ever to finding climate solutions through organic and regenerative agriculture.
