Brian Bautsch
Brian Bautsch is a highly-experienced professional in automotive safety, currently holding the position of Director of Safety Strategy at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in Torrance, California. In this role, Brian provides strategic leadership for all North American safety-related activities, advancing Honda's 2030 vision and the goal of zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050. He leads cross-disciplinary initiatives in technology, human behavior, and the traffic ecosystem. Brian's extensive career includes his tenure as the Crash Safety Department Manager at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, where he led a team of over 60 crash test safety engineers. He directed multiple vehicle developments to meet crash safety quality and regulatory standards. Earlier in his career, Brian was a Crash Safety Technical Expert and Group Leader, ensuring technical readiness for automotive performance through full-scale crash testing. He also held the position of Crash Safety Project Leader, responsible for the crash safety performance of the 2016 Honda Pilot, coordinating project development between production and development teams. Brian holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Wright State University.
