Dr. Omar Rodriguez‐Vila joined the Scheller College of Business in the summer of 2012, after receiving his PhD in Marketing from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He also holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

His research looks into the environmental and social sustainability benefits of brands, with a focus on understanding their relationship to business performance as well as the dynamics associated with the management of multiple stakeholders. He also studies the effect of marketplace and technological changes on the evolution of integrated marketing communication capabilities.

Prior to his academic career, Dr. Rodriguez‐Vila held numerous marketing leadership roles at The Coca‐Cola Company including Global Vice‐President for Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and IMC director in China, during which he led the strategy and design of the Coca‐Cola marketing plan for the sponsorship of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He also worked as a Latin America director in the advertising agency McCann‐Erickson and the strategy consulting firm Monitor
