Deanna Bratter is the Director of Sustainable Development for DanoneWave, America’s largest public benefit corporation with a commitment to fighting climate change, advancing sustainable agriculture, managing water sustainably, respecting natural ecosystems, improving packaging, and supporting people and communities.
Before DanoneWave, Deanna led Sustainable Development for WhiteWave Foods where she was instrumental in driving WhiteWave’s sustainability initiatives, and helping the company create a values-driven culture. Deanna was responsible for developing the company’s Values in Action employee engagement program as well as leading the journey to 100% certified sustainable palm oil and 100% sustainable cocoa powder. Deanna also established meaningful partnerships with a myriad of nonprofit organizations such as Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Xerces Society and World Wildlife Fund, to further support the company’s sustainable development goals.
Deanna was responsible for WhiteWave’s annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory and managed external reporting, including the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (www.whitewave.com/csr) and Carbon Disclosure Project reports.
At DanoneWave, Deanna continues her work in sustainable development, leveraging her passion for inspiring positive change and creating strategy to deliver significant business value. She drives the strategy and programs that support DanoneWave’s goal to produce healthful foods that create economic and social value and nurture natural ecosystems.
Deanna holds dual bachelor degrees from the University of South Florida and has obtained certifications from the University of Denver in Sustainability Leadership and Implementation and Harvard Business School in Sustainability and Corporate Performance, in addition to completing Six Sigma Management and GRI training.
