Daryl Pierson Daryl M. Pierson, sustainability coordinator at Wayne State University, works with the university’s schools, departments, and divisions to increase sustainability initiatives that will enhance environmental awareness; realize efficiencies that will preserve natural resources while reducing campus costs; support environmental education and research; increase the embrace of environmental stewardship within the campus community; and engage the surrounding community through sustainability activities. In addition, Pierson works with an interdisciplinary team of researchers on sustainability leadership as well as water-related initiatives with a research focus on ecological and human health within the Lake Huron to Lake Erie corridor of the Great Lakes Basin.
