Atlanta McIlwraith is the senior manager of community engagement and communication at Timberland. As such, she manages the company’s award-winning Path of ServiceTM employee volunteer program and strategic community investments. She also partners with the Marketing team to shareTimberland’s CSR messages externally. Prior to joining Timberland in 2005, Atlanta’s work experience includes political organizing, driving The Body Shop’s public awareness and action campaigns that launched in US stores, and serving an associate program manager for Population Service International’s AIDS prevention programs in West Africa.
Atlanta holds a BA in political science from Duke University and an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC where she concentrated her studies in marketing and sustainable enterprise. Atlanta co-chairs the Board of Directors for New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility and serves on the corporate advisory boards for Sustainable Brands and for Net Impact. She enjoys shaping the trees at the organic cut-your-own Christmas Tree Farm she and her husband own and supporting Willow Brook Farm & Art Center, their nonprofit incubator and launch pad for beginning organic farmers.
