This session will explore ‘Certification 2.0’, a world in which major consolidation among certification schemes occurs, allowing for true scale in commodity areas to be achieved, as well as simplifying greatly the otherwise confusing and crowded certification arena for both companies and consumers.
Being realistic about what certification can and cannot achieve, speakers will also discuss the merits of moving beyond certification. The largest trend in certification witnessed last year, surpassing even technological innovations, was that of brands creating their own schemes which put pressure on certification bodies to change and adapt.
