As Director of Responsible Business at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Brenda Schultz drives the creation and implementation of the company’s Responsible Business strategy focusing on people, community and environment throughout a portfolio of more than 600 hotels and corporate locations in the Americas region.

Brenda champions the many anti-trafficking initiatives within Carlson Rezidor, including the creation of robust human trafficking awareness training for employees, and partnering with ECPAT-USA to create hotel signage featuring the National Human Trafficking Hotline as a resource for reporting suspected cases of trafficking and for victims to reach out for life-saving services.

A subject matter expert in businesses combatting human trafficking, Brenda has served on the Board of Directors for the Global Business Coalition Against Trafficking (gBCAT), the Board of Directors for The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism (The Code), and participated on the Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking Employers Alliance (BEST) advisory committee.  She has joined together with law enforcement, legal professionals, non-profits and the private sector to bring awareness of human trafficking to members of Congress and the Senate, and has spoken on the topic of human trafficking for organizations such as the United Nations Global Compact, University of Minnesota, Harvard Kennedy School and Georgetown University.
