Catherine Gunsbury

Director, Sustainability & Transparency



As Director of Sustainability & Transparency, Catherine oversees Sustainability communications and marketing strategy; Global Responsibility reporting, ratings and rankings; and key transparency-related initiatives at General Mills.  Catherine’s 19-year tenure at General Mills includes experience in classic brand management, new product development and “front end” innovation.  Over the years, she has worked on global brands such as Yoplait, Nature Valley and Cheerios as well as on iconic brands such as Betty Crocker and Gold Medal Flour.

Prior to General Mills, Catherine worked in management consulting and international development.  She holds a B.A. from Carleton College and an M.B.A. from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  She is a former CORO Fellow and was a Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.   Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for WomenVenture, a non-profit that helps women create and grow profitable businesses.

She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, twin sons and mischievous dog.
