Terrius Harris

Director of Indigenous Partnerships & Inclusive Economy
American Sustainable Business Council

Terrius Harris is a visionary leader at the intersection of Indigenous advocacy, sustainable economies, and climate-smart practices. As the Director of Indigenous Partnerships & Inclusive Economy at the American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN), Terrius plays a pivotal role in spearheading initiatives that bridge Indigenous communities with both the private sector and regenerative agriculture sector. His leadership in the Growing GRASS project, funded by the USDA Partnership for Climate Smart Commodities, empowers Indigenous leaders to align their ecological knowledge with sustainable commodity markets, driving inclusive economic growth. In addition, Terrius leads ASBN’s efforts under the Department of Interior’s Public-Private Partnership to facilitate collaboration between Tribal Nations, private sector businesses, investors, and philanthropic organizations, leveraging resources to foster community-based economic development, entrepreneurship, and conservation within Tribal communities.

With a background rooted in both Afro-Indigenous LatinX heritage and a deep commitment to equity, Terrius brings a unique perspective to his work. He has successfully fostered partnerships between Tribal Nations, businesses, and the public sector, creating avenues for Indigenous communities to lead in climate-smart agriculture, economic development, and conservation efforts. His advocacy also extends beyond economic development, as he champions youth leadership through the creation of the Indigenous Youth Climate Resiliency Through Public Policy Program with support from Businesses for Conservation & Climate Action, equipping the next generation with the tools to shape policy for a resilient future.

Terrius's thought leadership is grounded in a commitment to collaboration, cultural preservation, and innovative strategies that prioritize Indigenous perspectives. His work not only addresses systemic inequities but also creates pathways for lasting change, ensuring that Indigenous communities are central to conversations about sustainability, climate resilience, and economic justice.
