Matthew Banks is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in climate change action, working with some of the world’s most prominent corporations and sectors. He advises companies on climate strategies, ensuring their relevance for global stakeholders. Throughout his career, Matt has influenced climate responses at the local, national, and international levels. His experience includes leading Climate Savers internationally and managing private sector coalitions at WWF US and Guidehouse. In 2019, Matt facilitated a pivotal roundtable with consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands, driving them to better address supplier emissions. This effort led to the launch of the award-winning Supplier LOCT coalition in 2021, featuring members like Mars, McCormick, and PepsiCo. Today, the coalition includes over 30 leading brands, trade groups, 1,000 major suppliers, and 3,000 individual learners. Matt is also involved in several dialogues at Climate Week NYC, helping prepare for 2025 as a turning point in CPG supply chain action as corporations transition from climate pledges to tangible performance in peaking and reducing emissions.
