J. Renay Loper centers people as an educator and impact strategist who catalyzes change through strategic cross-sector partnerships that shift systems and address sustainable paths forward, globally. She is on the Leadership Faculty in the Bard MBA in Sustainability, advises the Graduate Programs in Sustainability (GPS) Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion work, and hosts the GPS podcast, The Impact Report. Renay has 20 years of experience bridging gaps between the public, private, and social sectors, globally, having worked in a variety of industries and capacities. Prior to Bard, Renay served as the Vice President of Program Innovation at Pyxera Global where she oversaw the incubation portfolio and advised leadership of multinational companies on leveraging their core business to provide solutions to social challenges. Companies and organizations she worked with include NBCUniveral, Dell, Levi Strauss, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Moody’s, Ocean Conservancy, and more. She has designed and implemented programs around the SDGs in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the US. Additionally, Renay has led workshops for a variety of audiences and has been invited to facilitate sessions at the UN and the US Department of State. Her topics have included marine debris and the circular economy, food access, bridging the digital divide, youth skills, tri-sector partnerships, and working with underserved communities to name a few. Renay has authored in numerous publications, including a resource journal, Student Affairs Professionals Cultivating Campus Climates Inclusive of International Students, and a chapter, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in People Economics: Defining and Measuring the True Value of Human Capital. Renay has been on faculty at NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service, teaching a strategic leadership course in the Executive Master’s of Public Administration program and currently serves on the board of directors of nonprofits Community Change, Harpswell Foundation, and HATCH, and is a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network.
