Emmy Scott
At just 24, Emmy Scott is making a global impact as the youngest Executive Director of Earth Guardians (EG), training diverse youth to be influential climate justice leaders. Growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, her deep connection to nature—instilled by her grandfather—sparked a dedication to climate justice, inspiring her to achieve dual degrees in Environmental Sustainability Studies and Business Management from the University of Northern Colorado. Choosing business to ensure she could swiftly move financial resources into the climate movement and underserved communities, bridging access to and the knowledge of nature's regenerative power when protected.
As a student leader, Emmy was a student senator, grant coordinator, president of a green action fund, and part-time facilities sustainability coordinator, managing large-scale sustainability initiatives while leading an Earth Guardians Crew—youth-led, intergenerational groups driving grassroots climate solutions—that became a leading advocacy group on campus.
From Crew leader to ED, under her leadership at Earth Guardians and alongside a 94% BIPOC team under 30, the Crews program has expanded to empower 976 youth worldwide. Emmy also fosters partnerships like Coach's circular economy sub-brand Coachtopia, helping distribute Project Grants directly to Crews worldwide to complete community-based climate initiatives aligned with the UN's SDGs. Her vision combines redesigning systems, innovating regenerative economies, and integrating Indigenous knowledge to solve climate and social inequalities.
Committed to inclusion and collaboration for a sustainable future, Emmy empowers young leaders to discover new perspectives and embrace their unique role in building a just world, knowing we can achieve anything with education, perseverance, community, and diverse skills.
