Green Genes provides a forum to share sustainability ideas to improve the environmental performance of Genentech’s operations, the local community, and employees’ homes. Green Genes members can choose to engage in a variety of ways: attending monthly lunch & learns and environmental movie nights, volunteering to clean up local beaches, participating in online discussions, taking extra training to become a “GreenGuide” in their department, or becoming a Green Genes team leader to partner with the Sustainability Council and bring the voice of employees to the council’s steering committees.
