Prioritizing Health Literacy to Drive Habit Change
Looking at the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals, there is a clear interplay between the environmental (E) and societal (S) changes that need to take place. Climate change is an urgent threat to health, food, biodiversity, and livelihoods. Communities most impacted by climate change also tend to be underfunded, vulnerable and lacking equitable access to basic needs. People living in these communities don’t have time to wait for climate neutrality; they need actionable help today.
In this session, we'll share information about one of Bayer's signature programs, The Nutrient Gap Initiative, which aims to expand access to essential nutrients for 50 million people in underserved communities by 2030. In partnership with public health NGO Vitamin Angels, we'll discuss how this Initiative has expanded access, as well as its approach to educating and empowering people to take their healthcare and nutrition into their own hands. A case study in communication, collaboration and caring, this discussion will serve as a blueprint for other sustainability leaders looking for mass adoption of a social impact program.
