Living Lands and Waters
Living Lands and Waters mission is to aid in the protection, preservation, and restoration of the natural environment of our nation’s major rivers and their watersheds. We spend up to nine months a year, traveling with a fleet of 5 barges, 6 work boats, 2 tugboats, excavator, crane, 2 skid-steers and live-in crew. During our travels, we host community cleanups and tree plantings while providing education programing for thousands of students. Since 1998, we have removed 12,968,156 pounds of trash from America’s Rivers, planted/distributed 1,780,045 trees, educated 11,386 students, and have held over 1,400 community cleanups with 125,995 volunteers on 25 rivers in 21 states.
