Candice Lawton
Candice is a creative and disruptive Circular Economy leader with 10 years of experience working at the intersection of business and Sustainability. Currently Candice is the Senior Business Partnerships Manager at rePurpose Global and works to create platforms that enable the recovery and interception of traditionally non-recoverable plastics from regions globally where plastic pollution (on land and in oceans) is highest – all while improving the livelihoods of those working with and being harmed by mismanaged waste.
Prior to her work at rePurpose Global, Candice led the Community Partnerships team at one of the largest non-profit organizations addressing food waste and food insecurity in the US to rescue food destined for landfills and redistribute it to people experiencing food insecurity via a network of more than 400 partners. Previous to that, Candice oversaw the Americas Business Development team at TerraCycle and created 50+ first-of-its-kind recycling and reuse platforms for non-recyclable and non-reusable materials, such as beauty products and diapers to shoes and chewing gum.
Candice serves as the Treasurer on the board for the National Wildlife Federation’s Campus Race to Zero Waste and is a board and Sustainability Committee member for the Arrupe Center for Business Ethics at St. Joseph’s University. She has appeared as a Sustainability expert on numerous panels and talks at institutions including the French-American Chamber of Commerce, Princeton University, Keep America Beautiful, Green Philly and many more.
Candice is an active advocate and practitioner of zero waste, public transit, urban farming, rebuilding tree canopies and permaculture. She currently lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and enjoys anything to do with the great outdoors, reading, and cooking.
