Forests in Focus: A New Platform to Improve Forest Sustainability at the Landscape Level
Landscape-level approaches to certification are gaining attention, both in response to public policy and due to inherent limits of enterprise-by-enterprise (i.e., individual management unit) approaches. By providing meaningful insight across wider areas, landscape approaches allow brands and other end users to focus greater resources on areas of highest risk and to make targeted investments that create more rapid, tangible improvement in conditions on the ground. In this session, brands and NGOs collaborating within GreenBlue’s Forest Product Working Group present Forests in Focus, a new tool enabling improved policy decision-making and more effective scaling of sustainable sourcing practices.
