Doug Peterson
Doug Peterson is the Chief Scientist for Regenified. With more than 32 years of experience within the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the field. Doug held various roles at NRCS including state grassland specialist, state soil health specialist, and regional soil health specialist. In these positions, he worked closely with row crop and livestock producers across the country, helping them understand the critical importance of soil health and regenerative agricultural practices. Growing up on a crop and livestock farm in Northern Missouri, Doug's roots in agriculture run deep. For the past 25 years, he has managed his own 250-head cow/calf and contract grazing operation, where he uses Adaptive Regenerative Grazing techniques to regenerate soil health and enhance productivity. NRCS training, coupled with real-world, hands-on experience, help Doug bridge the gap between production and functional operation in a regenerative landscape. As the author of Regenified's acclaimed 6-3-4 standards, Doug plays a pivotal role in setting the industry standards for regenerative practices, ensuring that they are both scientifically rigorous and operationally feasible.
