Why Culture is the Most Powerful Vehicle for Influencing Behavior, and How to Harness it
Dr. Marcus Collins will share insights on the building blocks of culture from his new book, "For the Culture: The Power Behind What We Buy, What We Do, and Who We Want to Be", and analyze how influence, legitimation and other cultural forces can help overcome the say-do gap. Dr. Collins is an experienced thought leader whose numerous accomplishments include running digital strategy for Beyoncé, getting inducted into American Advertising Federation’s Advertising Hall of Achievement, receiving the Thinkers50 Radar Distinguished Achievement Award, as well as being a Cannes Lion Creative Strategy Juror, an Ad Age's 40 Under 40 recipient, and a Crain’s Business 40 Under 40 recipient.

The Value of Values: An Indispensable New Lever for Improving Corporate Performance
What if we quantified the submerged value of values, finding that the risk-reduction benefits of better environmental performance and the decision-making benefits of diverse management groups were worth far more than had previously been believed? What if the changes to customer preference and loyalty were worth 4 to 10 times more than anticipated—and employee-related benefits were worth even more?
If we did, we would find that values are as great a lever for improving corporate performance—or an even better one—than other, visible factors. If, in other words, we looked rigorously at the value that values produce for the company—for its relationships with customers, for its operations, for the risks it faces, and for its ability to attract and retain the best employees—we’d find the resulting benefits much bigger—sometimes enormously so—than we thought.
Ready? Let’s explore The Value of Values.

Getting Real about the Social Isolation Crisis and Finding "Planet Positive" Solutions in ‘Togetherland’
Researchers are finding that the climate and biodiversity crises are not only unfolding alongside crises in mental health and social isolation, but that in some striking ways these issues are also intertwined. The collective stress, fears, and isolation caused by climate- and biodiversity-related events, commonly dubbed eco-anxiety, often make people lonelier than they already are due to other factors–such as technology and the built environment–in turn further hurting health, relationships, and our collective ability to act effectively on the issues of our time.
According to Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, Surgeon General of the United States, "In recent years, about one-in-two adults in America reported experiencing loneliness." Statistics are similar for people of all ages in many, many other parts of the world, as well.
This talk will discuss solutions to this rooted in restoring and regenerating social connection with a focus on using positive, scenario-planning based "backcasting" tools as utilized by The Planet Positive 2030 Initiative created by The IEEE Standards Association.
You are hereby invited to visit ‘Togetherland’ and participate in the ‘Seen Transition'.
