Sustainability Partners
Carbon and Water Restoration Partner
Carbon and water use will be balanced with Bonneville Environmental Foundation’s (BEF) carbon offsets and Water Restoration Certificates (WRCs). These certificates will balance the estimated water impacts from the Hilton Minneapolis for three days. Carbon offsets will be sourced from the Kootznoowoo Forestry Project. WRCs are sourced from the Colorado River Indian Tribes Project.
Food Waste Partner
SB is partnering with Copia to track our food donations throughout the event. We will be able to know exactly how much excess food was donated, rather than thrown away.
Climate Labeling Partner
SB has partnered with HowGood to provide transparency to our attendees about our menu’s carbon footprint. Each menu item at our event will be labeled with the item’s associated carbon footprint.
Local Impact Partner
Sustainable Brands is partnering with Neighborhood Forest, a Minneapolis-based organization focused on getting trees in the hands of children. Neighborhood Forest will donate a tree through their program for every attendee who registers in the month of April.
Plastic Action Partner
SB is partnering with rePurpose Global’s Project Segara Kerthi, Balinese: Sacred Ocean located in Bali, Indonesia. The project works with small-scale waste collectors to recover ocean-bound plastic bags. The project trains local waste aggregators through an innovative franchise model, creating new income opportunities and safer working conditions. Recovering plastic through this project protects Bali’s incredible natural ecosystems, creates entrepreneurship opportunities for local workers, and recycles plastic.
Plastic Waste Partner
Bring your hard-to-recycle empty beauty packaging to Ulta Beauty’s Beauty Dropoff bin! The packaging will be sent to Pact who aims to find the highest and best use for the material collected, keeping it out of landfill. Click here to see how it works!
Sustainable Design Partner
SB has partnered with The Vomela Companies to elevate the event’s stage decor while still keeping sustainability at the forefront. The Vomela Companies uses eco-friendly materials and has a focus on sustainability. The company is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership and other sustainability authorities.
At Sustainable Brands, we are committed to modeling the best behaviors and practices we share with our community.
