Matthew Tullman is co-founder and chief executive of Merchant Mechanics. For nearly 20 years he has led the company in service of its impressive roster of Fortune 500 companies, including numerous brand, retail and media clients. Mr. Tullman continues to pioneer the integration of cutting-edge and traditional research techniques for the advancement of Merchant Mechanics’ cognitive and behavioral science practices. His research includes original studies of sensory perception, consumer emotion, shopper behavior, and decision making. He has published findings in prominent academic and business journals, while his commentary and insights regularly appear in news and trade publications including The Wall Street Journal, FastCompany, Crain’s New York Business and Chain Store Age. A native New Englander, Matthew also operates a boutique specialty foods company that specializes in bourbon barrel aged Vermont maple syrup.
