US Farmers & Ranchers Alliance
Hi there! I’m Cassidy. Wife to Bert, mama to Wacey and Buster. I live and work with my boys on a big cattle ranch in southeastern New Mexico. I’m so happy you’re here!
I grew up in a suburb of Denver andgraduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Environmental Studies. While in college and doing research for my honor’s thesis, I met my now husband and fellow Colorado native and fell in love with ranching and with him. Very long story short (non-short story here!), we’ve been together ever since. We’ve lived and worked together on five big ranches in three different states, and it’s the best.
Like all moms, I wear a lot of hats: mama, ranch employee, ranch wife, chief car-packer,distributor of snacks, protector of the iTunes, head chef…and the list goes on. One thing I hear from a lot of moms is how stressful it can be to sort through all the media surrounding food–what’s safe, what’s not, what’s humane, what’s healthy. My greatest hope is that by sharing our lives and how we raise cattle with you, it might help you feel a little more connected to your food and where it comes from. I’m proud of what we do and feel so fortunate that we will be able to raise our boys on the ranch inone of the richest traditions of our country. Most of the food in this country is raised by families just like ours, and this community is the best I’ve ever known. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have, I can’t tell you how happy I am tohelp answer them!
Here you’ll find ranch life, mom life, faith, family, food and everything in between, plus a healthy dose of overpriced blended coffee drinks, glitter, home decor projects, and high-waisted jeans because we’re all about balance round these here parts. Welcome, and come on in, and stay awhile!
