From early on, Manuela had a natural connection to sustainability due to her agricultural background.
After a practical education she obtained her diploma at the Technical University of Munich in Agricultural Sciences with a focus on plant production and she wrote her thesis on plant nutrition.
Following that, she began to work at one of the biggest German trading companies, gaining critical experience in sales and consultancy.
Manuela joined BASF to work in various functions in the agricultural division first and moved to the corporate sustainability department later. Her responsibility is to consult selected BASF operating divisions with respect to implementation of sustainability.
In addition, she also leads the BASF Starting Ventures program.
