Laura Thompson

Laura Thompson is currently Sr Director, Global Category Development and Execution, and is a member of the Global Customer Engagement Leadership Team. Laura plays an instrumental role in shaping the future of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health retail and category thought leadership, in close partnership with cross-functional teams around the world. Laura leads the evolution of how we unlock new growth opportunities through strategic portfolio management, informed by rich customer and category understanding. This includes global customer sustainability leadership narrative and identifying areas of partnership opportunities.

Laura brings a clear passion for driving joint value internally and externally, building lasting and respected customer relationships, and a deep passion for developing high performing individuals and teams. In her previous roles she has led her teams to drive strong partnerships and growth strategies with their customers across local and global customers such as Costco and Amazon. Laura has spearheaded Digital first strategy working with her Connected Commerce team to upskill internal capabilities and develop new ideas to drive growth in this incredibly dynamic and important channel.

Laura has played a key role in the Agile ways of working roll out across North America and has a strong passion for talent development: leading the University Recruitment and co-leading Talent & Career Planning for the Customer Development team in Canada and currently the Global representative on the USA talent team.

Prior to joining J&J Laura spent over 15 years within various and diverse customer facing, category development and sales strategy roles. She has led and developed strategic customer partnerships across all key Canadian customers and channels. Laura holds a Bachelor Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia.

Laura currently resides in Toronto Canada with her husband and enjoys an active lifestyle. She loves spending time outside with her two dogs as well as golfing in the summer and skiing in the winter. Traveling as much as possible also tops the list for Laura and her husband.
