Water Security: Overcoming Barriers to Corporate Engagement in Multi-Stakeholder Water Risk Management

Supply Chain Innovation

This session will share key findings from GIZ and CDP’s latest water report, which explores why despite growing corporate risk on water security, corporate engagement in meaningful collective action remains confined to islands of excellence rather than a mainstream activity. The presentation will outline six barriers to corporate engagement in multi-stakeholder water risk management, and possible solutions to those barriers. CDP’s insights offer clear steps for companies, water management authorities, investors, and NGO’s to take. Following the presentation, a panel of corporate representatives will discuss their own collaborations with external stakeholders (such as suppliers) on water, and outline key steps the audience can take for their own successful implementation.
