Dani Anguiano is a reporter for the Guardian's west coast office who covers breaking news and all things California, including housing, homelessness and environmental issues. She has reported extensively on wildfires for the last four years and is the co-author of Fire in Paradise: An American Tragedy. Prior to joining the Guardian in 2018, she worked for a daily newspaper in Northern California where she covered everything from local politics to education to business. She is a graduate of California State University, Chico and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. In her downtime she enjoys reading, exploring mountain towns and spending time with her cat, Mochi.
