Dr. Anastasia Volkova
Dr. Anastasia Volkova is the CEO and co-founder of Regrow Ag, an award-winning SaaS company that empowers climate action through nature-based solutions in agriculture. Regrow’s MRV platform established the Measurement, Reporting, and Verification category for ecosystem markets and was named a Finalist in Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards. Regrow is the only solutions provider that can support organizations along the entire journey to reach their net-zero goals, from assessing and taking action to reduce Scope 3 emissions, to reporting accurate sustainability outcomes with trusted third-party verification, to scaling solutions globally. To date, Regrow’s technology has helped sequester ~80,000 metric tonnes of carbon and monitors ~400 million acres annually.
After growing up in the agricultural powerhouse of Ukraine and earning her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Sydney, Dr. Volkova applied her knowledge to developing innovative technology that enables the agriculture industry to reverse climate change. In 2016 she founded FluroSat, a company that used drone and satellite data, along with algorithms and other tools, to help farmers optimize crop production. In early 2021, FluroSat acquired leading soil health startup Dagan to form Regrow, a company with a broader mandate to help restore the potential of agricultural soils and drive the transition to regenerative agriculture on every acre.
In less than two years, Dr. Volkova and her team have nurtured Regrow into a global company that empowers some of the world’s largest brands (Kellogg’s, Cargill, and General Mills, among others) to baseline, monitor and report critical metrics, including emission factors, with increased credibility and confidence. Regrow’s process for calculating precise and dynamic data is verified with the Climate Action Reserve, and aligned with programs approved by SustainCERT. Dr. Volkova is a recognized thought leader in regenerative agriculture and sustainable food sourcing. In 2022, she was named one of Bloomberg’s New Economy Catalysts and made The Australian’s Top 100 Innovators list for the second year in a row. She is a member of the Forbes Technology Council, a TEDx Speaker, one of MIT’s “35 Under 35” Innovators (2020), and one of BBC’s “Top 100 Women” (2020).
