Douglas Sabo
Douglas Sabo is a recognized global leader in corporate sustainability, ESG and sustainable commerce. From 2008-2024, Sabo served as a corporate sustainability and responsibility executive at Visa Inc., the global payments leader, including as the company’s inaugural Chief Sustainability Officer. In his role, Sabo led Visa’s ESG strategy, framework, reporting and stakeholder engagement, driving the company to regular recognition as a top industry leader for ESG performance. Sabo also led the company’s environmental sustainability, human rights and responsible business strategies, including Visa’s initiatives in the company’s operations as well as in empowering sustainable living and commerce. During Sabo’s Visa tenure, his work included helping create the Travalyst, Brands for Good and Healthy & Sustainable Living industry initiatives as well as serving as the inaugural President of the Visa Foundation. Sabo has served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Sustainable Tourism, NYSE Sustainability Advisory Council, Centre for Sport and Human Rights Advisory Council and the Sustainable Finance Working Group of the Institute for International Finance. He also is a frequent speaker on a variety of ESG, corporate responsibility and sustainability topics. Sabo’s sustainability leadership recognition includes being named to the Top 100 CSOs, ESG 50 and Top 100 Corporate Responsibility Influence Leaders lists. Sabo currently serves as the Sustainable Living Executive-in-Resident as well as Advisory Board member for Sustainable Brands. Sabo also serves as a Strategic Advisor to the following companies and multistakeholder initiatives: Cloverly (voluntary carbon markets), SolBid (commercial and industrial solar), Persefoni (GHG accounting and reporting), Karma Wallet (sustainable purchasing and commerce), Electrify Expo (e-mobility consumer expo) and Count Us In (global consumer engagement). Sabo is the Founder of GreenLivingDoug LLC, curator of the #SeeingGreen blog (www.greenlivingdoug.com) and YouTube channel (@GreenLivingDoug), and contributor to several sustainable living coalitions and initiatives.
