Carl Picconatto
Dr. Carl A. Picconatto is the Director of the Emerging Technologies Innovation Center at The MITRE Corporation. The Center leads MITRE efforts for numerous technical competencies including many of the physical and life sciences, e.g., chemistry, materials science, biology, nanotechnology, quantum information sciences, and neurotechnology as well as the energy, environmental, and climate work. Before joining MITRE, Dr. Picconatto worked in the United States Congress under fellowships with the National Academy of Sciences and the American Chemical Society. He served as the chief science advisor to Congresswoman Constance A. Morella, a senior member of the House Committee on Science. He also worked for the Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy at the National Academies as a Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Fellow. Dr. Picconatto holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University and a B.S. from the University of Notre Dame and is a Fellow of the American Chemical Society.
