About John Woldenberg
John Woldenberg (from Chicago) lives in Los Angeles. He attended University of Michigan and University of Chicago Booth Graduate Business School. John’s career has spanned food (restaurants), investment, technology and entertainment. He writes and produces film (documentaries and narrative features), television (public, network and cable) and music. He has spoken around the world on the intersection of technology, film, art and social change. Extensive international travel includes a 20-month period of exploration of Southeast/Central Asia. John is also involved in the development of emerging technologies (AI, ML, AR, VR and Holography) as applied to human behavior to help achieve social change.
John has devoted his philanthropic efforts in Sustainability and Conservation in the Environment, Oceans, Education and the intersection of technology, education, story telling and decision-making. John has chaired multiple global events addressing environmental and sustainability. He has been a member of The Clinton Global Initiative, Google Zeitgeist, TED conference and Environmental Summits in Iceland. Mr. Woldenberg was also a Board member of UCLA’s Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Dept, spearheading a Biomimicry Flash Project to inspire applying design in nature to improve efficiency and sustainable attributes to human processes/technologies. John has been a TED mentor in tv/film/music.
John is divorced with two children and two rescue dogs. He has a passion for diving, mountaineering, geology and paleontology…pretty much any exploration and old things!
(He attended Burning Man for the first time last year.)
