About Pedro Ferreiro

Pedro is Deputy Director of the Buyer Engagement team at SFP. He is a marine biologist with a master’s degree in Mariculture Science and Technology. He has more than 12 years of experience working with Spanish fisheries and aquaculture operations. His previous experience includesfisheries observer and fisheries technician, as well as sustainable seafood sourcing and labeling advisor to Spanish small-scale fisheries and management authorities. As a fisheries consultant, Pedro was instrumental in leading the first MSC certification in Spanish waters, and he has worked to improve small-scale fisheries marketing programs. He also collaborates with the Master Course “Management of Sustainable Development” at Vigo University as a guest lecturer on Sustainable Development of the Seafood Industry.
