Your Shortcut to a More Sustainable Product Portfolio

Corporate sustainability initiatives are often significantly delayed because the properties of ingredients and components are not transparent. Water and energy consumption, CO2 production, biotoxicity or health effects, for example, are either difficult to determine or the corresponding data are stored in many different locations. If a company wants to change the supplier of a certain component, it is difficult to find the right one. Namely the one that offers the right price, performance and sustainability.

Everycs now allows you to compare products from different suppliers based on individual criteria. The criteria can be weighted. The result is a list showing in descending order the products, ingredients or components of different manufacturers including their scores.

As an example, the company has developed an application that compares environmental and health toxicity, compliance with environmental regulations, and the price and performance of marine coatings. The user can weight the importance of the criteria for his requirements in three simple steps. He then receives a list of suitable boat paints including the corresponding performance data in the various categories.

The application is based on data from a study conducted by Northwest Green Chemistry and the Washington State’s Department of Ecology. It serves as an example of how the results of such studies can be better exploited and used for purchasing.

Alternatively, the data for such comparisons may also come from other sources, for example from the platform developed by Everycs for the development and purchase and sale of products Makersite. It combines information with analysis tools in the cloud. The underlying database on environmental impacts, costs and risks contains several million data points from more than 20 national and international databases. It is open to the public and demonstrates to companies that want to implement an individual solution on-premise, hybrid or in the cloud the possibilities offered by the data, the data model and the analysis functions.

In total, over 10,000 product models including their costs, 36,000 industrial processes, 80 million chemical substances including their properties, 70,000 materials, 600,000 environmental impacts, 9,000 product regulations are available on Makersite. The data is constantly updated to reflect new regulations, costs or products.

Come and meet with Everycs and Makersite at the Good Growth Pavilion in the Activation Hub at SB’18 Vancouver, this June 4-7th. See you in Vancouver!
