When cities, bidders and organizers for global sport events like the Olympics & FIFA World Cup create hosting plans that juggle the array of stakeholder interests, technical and strategic requirements and long-term opportunities – they feel both inspired and challenged.
Ann’s great passion is helping clients bring ideas and goals together with one solid plan and many smart solutions. Her approach helps clients understand heightened sustainability requirements, assess risks, identify opportunities, and ultimately create strategies to meet hosts’ sustainable event targets and serve greater goals like the UN SDG’s through performance-based sustainable sport event and engagement plans. Results include pathways for good governance, climate action, zero waste, supply chain management, ethical business conduct, respect for human rights, broad social inclusion and community engagement. Each plan begins and ends with a portfolio of environmental and socio-economic legacies for hosts, partners and communities.
Ann’s expertise is drawn from her C-suite sustainability roles with the Vancouver2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games and CH2M Canada and her advisory work with several Olympic and Paralympic Games hosts, Toronto2015 Pan Am Games, FIFA Canada2015 Women’s World Cup, and bid teams like Istanbul2020, LosAngeles2028 and the UnitedBid2026 for FIFA. Ann was a technical committee member for the ISO 20121 and GRI international standards for sustainable event management and reporting. She calls Whistler, Canada home with her husband and four step children.
