Nova Sayers is Senior Business Development Manager for the Global Food Division of NSF International, a global not-for-profit public health & safety services organization.  Here Nova combines her passion to build integrity, health and sustainability in the food system with her drive to create business value for her clients and for NSF.  She guides clients from farm to retail on strategy and the many tools NSF offers to drive growth, manage risk, build brands and distinguish products.

At NSF Nova has successfully helped launch several new services to foster trust and sustainability in the food system, including:  product claims verification for consumer values like Non GMO, Transitional, and Raised Without Antibiotics; Responsible Sourcing consulting to design sourcing policy and build resilient supply networks; plus innovative Standards Development projects in globally traded commodities ranging from Produce to Coffee to Honey.

Nova also engages with associations and industry initiatives for health and sustainability, including the Sustainable Food Trade Association, The Sustainability Consortium, a small farm grant fund called Cultivating Change, and Demeter USA promoting Biodynamic® food and farming.

Earlier in her career, Nova specialized in international trade development, marketing, and sustainability for an array of industries working with the Ports and Cities and Chambers of Commerce in the San Francisco Bay Area and leading Bay Area based companies and innovators.  She is a certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, a GRI Sustainability Reporter, and she earned BA from the University of California at Berkeley in International Political-Economy.  Nova is based in Northern California and loves travelling to experience cultural diversity, nature’s majesty, and farmers markets around the world!
